1. Banu Mushtaq of India received ‘International Booker Prize 2025’

On May 20, Indian writer, advocate and activist Banu Mushtaq received the International Booker Prize 2025 for his book ‘Heart Lamp’.

  • This is the first short story collection to receive the award.

  • Earlier, the Union Territory of Ladakh has achieved full literacy target in the year 2024.

1. Uttarakhand Madrasa Board syllabus will include ‘Operation Sindoor’

On May 20, the Uttarakhand Madrasa Board has decided to include ‘Operation Sindoor’ in its curriculum across the state. Under this, students will learn about the recent military campaign.

2. Jharkhand 8th board exam results released

On May 20, Jharkhand Academic Council i.e. JAC released the result of 8th board examination. A total of 4,71,937 children passed it this year. This year pass percentage is 94.39%, while last year’s result was 94.16%.

This time a total of 5,80,023 children were innrolled for the board examination. Of these, 4,99,972 children appeared in the examination.

This year Bokaro’s result was the best. From here, 22,406 children had registered for the examination, out of which 21,951 students attended the exam and a total of 20,916 students passed.
