According to a World Gold Council report, global gold ETFs, backed by physical gold, held a combined total of 3,639 tonnes at the end of July 2025 — marking the largest month-end accumulation since August 2022. The report indicates that persistent inflows and rising gold prices drove the total assets under management of these global gold ETFs to $386 billion as of July 2025. Over the past year, they recorded net inflows in 10 of the 12 months, while gold prices gained nearly 40 per cent in USD terms. Here are the key holding trends in global gold ETFs.
