Mysuru-based Rangsons Aerospace is eyeing an entry into the Israeli satcom space as part of its global expansion strategy. “We have embarked on an acquisition in Israel in the satcom space and are also exploring another in the US to bring in core aerospace technologies,” said Pavan Ranga, Managing Director, Rangsons Aerospace.

This comes as the company projects exports to grow to 60 per cent of its total revenue in the next 2–3 years, up from the current 50 per cent. “We are expecting to close this year with a topline of around ₹250 crore, growing at 80–90 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y),” Ranga said.

The company, which is part of the NR Group — best known for manufacturing Cycle Agarbatti, currently exports primarily to the US and Europe, and is now looking to expand into West Asia and Far East Asia.

Scaling up

Earlier in March, Rangsons raised ₹300 crore in a funding round led by ValueQuest Investment Advisors. The funds will be used to scale operations, drive growth, and expand into international markets. “We have a fairly elaborate R&D setup in Bengaluru, which we augment by acquiring technologies from outside India, sometimes through partnerships, and at times by acquiring companies,” Ranga said.

The company operates across communications, including satcom and Datalink, and offers airborne thermal management solutions, which are critical for cooling systems across various platforms, including missiles, drones, UAVs, aircraft, helicopters, submarines, and even space applications.

On the mechanical side, Rangsons manufactures high-precision mechanical and electromechanical components for leading global aerospace firms including Boeing, Airbus, GE, Honeywell, and Collins Aerospace. Rangsons’ order book includes contracts from DRDO, the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, and ISRO, as well as several global aerospace majors. It operates advanced engineering, design, and manufacturing facilities in Bengaluru and Mysuru.
