Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday issued strict directives ahead of the annual Kanwar Yatra. Stressing on the need to maintain law and order and respect the religious sentiments of devotees.
He instructed officials to ensure that no open sale of meat takes place along the yatra route and that shopkeepers clearly display their names at their establishments, as was mandated in previous years.
CM Yogi warned about the possibility of anti-social elements joining in disguise while mentioning that a huge number of devotees are expected to take part in the yatra. The chief minister also ordered the authorities to ensure security arrangements must be foolproof to prevent any disruptions during the religious procession.
