The IAN (Indian Angel Network) Group, a platform for early-stage investing, has roped in former Group CFO of Info Edge India Limited Chintan Thakkar as its CEO. He will also serve as a Senior Managing Partner for the recently launched IAN Alpha Fund.
“At Info Edge, Chintan played a key role in the company’s transformation from a small-cap to a large-cap company. He was also deeply involved in the company’s investments in early-stage companies,” an IAN statement said here on Tuesday.
“With the induction of Chintan, our management team comprising Rajnish Kapur, Madhav Sikka, and Sarika Saxena, is significantly strengthened, giving us the management bandwidth to achieve our vision of Rs 5,000 crore investments, covering 500 startups and creating 5 lakh,” Padmaja Ruparel, Co-Founder of IAN Group, said.
“IAN, which promoted angel investing into early-stage startups, helped several entrepreneurs to raise funds in the range of Rs 50 lakhs to Rs 50 crore on a single platform, and get mentorship and global market access,” it said.
It has a portfolio of about 240 companies, including three unicorns and seven soonicorns (soon-to-be unicorns).
