The Delhi High Court on Wednesday granted bail to Neelam Azad and Mahesh Kumawat, both of whom were arrested in the Parliament security breach case which happened on December 13, 2023.

The court while announcing its decision directed the accused to furnish a bail bond of Rs 50,000 each, along with two sureties of like amount.

As part of the bail conditions, the court has barred the accused from giving interviews or making any public statements related to the case and restrained them from posting anything on the social media relating to the incident in question.

The court has also restricted them from leaving the city of Delhi and directed them to report to the designated police station every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10 am.

A division bench comprising Justice Subramonium Prasad and Justice Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar pronounced the order which was reserved on May 21.

On 13 December 2023, the breach was orchestrated by a group of six individuals, of whom two, Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D, managed to infiltrate the Lok Sabha chamber. During Zero Hour, they leapt from the public gallery, discharged yellow gas from canisters and shouted slogans until MPs and security personnel subdued them.
