Italian design house Pininfarina SpA firm, an associate company of Tech Mahindra, increased its shareholding in retail and consumer firm Signature Srl to 84 per cent for € 134,375 on August 14.
“[Tech Mahindra] does hold not any interest in this transaction, except to the extent of their shareholding in Pininfarina. The Transaction is a related party transaction on an arms’ length basis,” said the company in an exchange filing.
The acquisition of Signature is aimed at strengthening the presence of Pininfarina in the consumer channel, while furthering the Pininfarina brand. As of Thursday, the company’s shareholding in Signature S.r.l increased from 24 per cent to 84 per cent of its equity share capital. Consequent to the aforesaid transaction, Signature has become a subsidiary of Pininfarina and a step-down subsidiary of the company.
Signature was incorporated in 2018 as a joint venture with Napkin Forever. The turnover of Signature as on December 31, 2024 was €2.9 million.
In March, Pininfarina and Tech Mahindra teamed up with CelcomDigi Berhad to design the interior of CelcomDigi retail stores.
